IOAS logoThe Institute of Aikido dojo in Silverdale at the top of Auckland’s north shore. The dojo operates a 24/7 open door policy to all students and members of the Institute of Aikido and their affiliated clubs.  We train a self defence focussed style of Aikido and Aikijutsu. 

Custom built in June 2008, It is a beautiful space, one of the largest dedicated Aikido dojos in New Zealand with 112 sq metres of mat. Facilities include on-site accommodation, a small gym and the benefits of 5 acres of beautiful countryside featuring streams, waterways and a two acres pine forest.

CLASSES:
Tuesday 6.30 – 7.30pm (kids 10-15 years)
Tuesday 7.30 – 9.00pm (adults 15+)
Thursday 6.30 – 7.30pm (kids 10-15 years)
Thursday 7.30 – 9.00pm (adults 15+)
Sunday 9.00 – 10.30 am. Open Mat Session (10+ years). All welcome, including families
Monday 7.00 – 8.15pm Weapons  (adults 15+)

Most classes are taught by Sensei Francis, one of the most experienced Aikido & AikiJutsu instructors in New Zealand. There are frequent seminars held throughout the year where we invite instructors from many different arts to share their knowledge  and an open mat (mixed ages, families welcome) session every Sunday morning.  Beginners are always welcome at any of our sessions.
